Common Questions
Does Glean upload my photos or videos?
No. Glean is designed to work locally on your device. Your photos and videos stay in your Apple Photos library, on your device, or in iCloud Photos according to your own Apple settings. Glean does not upload your photos or videos to a Glean server.
Why does Glean need Photo Library access?
Glean needs Photo Library access so it can show your photos and videos, organize them into smaller groups, add items to Favorites, temporarily move items into the in-app trash flow, and ask Apple Photos to delete items you choose.
What happens when I delete items in Glean?
Glean asks Apple's Photos system to delete the selected items. iOS will show the system Photos confirmation before deletion. Deleted items usually move to Recently Deleted in the Photos app first, depending on Apple's current Photos behavior and your device settings.
